This stunning castle and hamlet date back to the 12th century when they were owned by the Sienese noble family. Historical records also name Cosimo de Medici as once the owner.
The property now comprises the castle and hamlet and 10 country houses found dotted around the 683 ha of land. The land is made up of 450 ha of woodland and 233 ha of arable land. The perfect place for walks in the woods and hunting, the arable land would be perfect for breeding animals and keeping horses with ample with plenty of volume for creating stables.
The total development area of buildings is ca. 16.000 sqm with the possibility of expansion.
Subject to final planning permission there is a project to build and convert the buildings into hotel/apartment/residences, with independent villas or country houses. The potential five-star luxury hotel of ca 80 rooms would have amenities including a communal spa, gym, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants and a medieval church.
There are currently 1,5 hectares of vineyard (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon), which will be increased by a further 2 hectares with four hectares of vineyard planting rights. A plan to develop the land and plant a further 25 hectares of vineyard has been approved along with 5 hectares of olive grove. There are two wells on the property.
The buildings require a total restoration as the current structures are derelict.
